Solo-exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, as part of their Art Screen program. Public installation at Alfred Deakin Place, Ballarat, Australia. 24 November 2025 - 30 January 2026.
Features an expanded version of the video TEXT/SCREEN/TEXT (2024), with the conceptual intention of representing the history of cinema within the acceptable length of a feature film (around 90 minutes).
TEXT/SCREEN/TEXT is an experimental piece of writing that reconstructs the language of cinema using found images—screen captures of title cards and on-screen messages that embody the textual language and typography of film. These images, sourced from a diverse range of genres and eras, serve as the building blocks for new sentences and ideas. Through deconstruction and reconfiguration, the work uncovers the cultural biases and limitations embedded within cinematic language. (Read full essay HERE).
