They Made a Meme Out of My Legacy. Master of Fine Arts exam, installed at Bildmuseet in Umeå, Sweden, May 2020.

The project explores the possibilities of cloning, as seen through the lens of Barbra Streisand’s choice to clone her dog.

The story is told through hand-sewn textiles, made from materials that emphasise the domestic, such as blankets and bed covers.
There is a safeness and sense of comfort to these materials, which echoes the security and familiarity of the household pet.

The works have a playfulness to them, and aesthetically they appear as something that could, perhaps, be found in a child’s bedroom.
This physical manifestation is in obvious contrast to the precarious nature of the subject at hand.

The centerpiece of the installation is a sculpture consisting of a ready-made seesaw (an agility dog-training equipment),
wrapped in a layer of textile. On it sit two custom-made plush toys made in the image of Barbra Streisand’s dog.
Placed on opposing ends, facing each other, they seem to be in a perfect genetic balance
